During the Diversity Workshop Ryan focuses on bringing students of different backgrounds together to find common ground and find solutions to work together. We live in a society that creates vehicles that divide people rather than promotes togetherness. Race, gender, politics etc... are issues that students face on a daily basis both at school and at home. The issues often cause them to be mistreated or feel left out because they do not "fit in."
Ryan focuses on a transparent discussion amongst students about subjects such as racism, racial stereotypes, criminal stereotypes and more. Once students understand the difference between each of the subjects, Ryan then transitions his workshop to focus on the commonalities of one another as opposed to the apparent differences we believe we have.
This presentation is approximately 60-70 minutes with time left at the end for a Q & A with Ryan.
At the end of this workshop, students leave, realizing that it is our job as individuals to not perpetuate the continuous stereotypes that the media and history would like us too. By looking past our difference and loving one another as people, students can grow and learn to live amongst each other, accepting each other for who they are.

Students respond best when teachers use various forms of storytelling. In one study, researchers showed high school students an anti-racism film, and when the students discussed the film after watching it, they retained their attitude changes about race one month later.
Some anti-racism workshop moderators have found role-play is most effective in helping people learn anti-racism. Six years after attending racism training, a former high school student said she still remembers a role-playing demonstration which taught her the lesson.
An effective anti-racism workshop must be structured around open and respectful discussion, and discourage people from refuting others’ experiences.
Calling others racist will put people on the defensive, but sharing personal experiences will facilitate better conversation.
This presentation is designed to motivate, inspire and encourage students to get the most out of the individual talents that they possess.
Bullying is a major issue within our schools, Ryan has recognized that students must develop confidence in themselves to combat bullying.
This workshop allows students and community members to openly voice their HONEST opinion about the way they feel about law enforcement.
