FOR COMMUNITY LEADERS

BBU working with community leaders

It Takes A Village, Right?

Ryan’s goal through Breaking Barriers United (BBU) is to bring together educators, law enforcement officials, and public service agencies at the intersection of hope to sustain and improve the health of our communities. Ryan does this by bringing a focus on the intentionality of kindness and the deliberation of collaborative efforts. By establishing effective partnerships and relationships with key stakeholders, Breaking Barriers United is able to create a restorative culture characterized by public trust, justice, hope, kindness, growth, etc.

The work that Ryan and Breaking Barriers United is doing is only effective with buy-in from community leaders. Ryan recognizes that although change can come from the grassroots efforts of people at the bottom, the change can only be sustained with the support of the people at the top. Community leaders are an essential function to the success of our youth and communities.

Not only does Breaking Barriers United offer workshops for schools and city organizations, as well as the ChoZen Leadership and Career Development Academy, but it also hosts conferences that invite city officials from across the country to collaborate about ways to do things better. These conferences provide a space to begin the breaking of barriers and the building of bridges, understanding, collective responsibility, and shared efforts that positively impact our communities.
